It is immortal to me

I noted down the joke that you said

It held hostage over my ribs

I made a mental note of your smile

It says I’m a comedian in my truest form

I had to lie down but so did you

No one around us knew how funny it was

Just two kids rolling around in grass

Not asking for a single thing but each other

Heart to heart and ear to ear

Prayers being answered

I think about it lots, chuckling

I see it in golden light

It powers my energy for days

You shouldn’t live in the past

But a memory this good

Deserves to live forever.
